WARNING: Imperial tools have slightly different sizes than Metric ones.
Using the wrong one will often damage the bolt, nut or whatever you are working on. See this list for all the imperial tools we have.
Try not to mix them with our metric tools -- to make sure your fellow maker does not ruin their work.
Be especially careful with the close friends, such as sizes like 5/8inch and 16mm;
although the difference is 0.13mm - you will ruin (or usually just crack) a collet or similar..
Our collets are``Clarkson S Type-small Autolock Colletss and the normal L type.
These are special in that they take fixed shank diameters only - and will NOT compress to accommodate shanks that are 0.5 or 1mm smaller. In fact - this will break them.
Secondly - it is important that the end of the cutter is up against the special ring/pin (labeled 4 in the picture below) - but this must not be too tight - as this will shatter de endmill.
The crux is that the spanner is used for disassembly - but is not needed for assembly.
So follow bellow instructions!
- Draai alles uit elkaar.
- Zet de ISO40 houder in de machine
- Draai deze bovenop redelijk (maar niet extreem stevig) vast met het sleuteltje. Zeker niet aan gaan hangen!
- Zoek de gereedschaphouder die exact past bij je frees (deze houders zijn niet verstelbaar; dus het is exact 16mm, etc).
- Als de frees of houder beschadigd is - check dan dat je het freesje er makkelijk in kan draaien - totdat het 'net' uitsteekt aan de achterkant.
- Doe de gereedschaphouder/collet in de huls
- Zorg dat de twee lipjes van de houder in de gleufjes van de huls vallen.
- Draai het geheel in de ISO40 houder die al in de machine zit. Als het niet lukt - even loshalen, kwartslag draaien en weer proberen. Als je goed zit gaat het erg makkelijk en zonder enige wrijving. nooit forceren
- Draai dit `losjes' handvast. Dus totdat het net tegen de rand zit.
- Draai de frees in de ISO houder. Eerst zit er vertikale beweging in. Ga door tot die beweging geheel weg is. Het puntje 'in' de ISO40 zit nu in het puntje middenachter op de frees.
- Draai dan met de hand of de speciale sleutel de huls aan; meestal een kwart slag. Dit kan handvest.
