Simple box making (notes to stop myself from re-inventing this)

  1. Find a rectangular piece of plywood
  2. Measure width - divide by 3 (this will be the -height- of the box)
  3. Set this width on the table saw (clean with)
  4. Saw length wise. So the last strip will in fact be smaller than the first two. That is good - it needs to be the the width of the box minus the thickness of the wood.
  5. Cut, from each strip; one piece the length of the box (back to back). Generally you can do this twice; for two boxes.
  6. Cut from the two wider strips; two square pieces. Generally you can do this twice; for two boxes.
  7. Adjust the height of the tablesaw to half the tickness of the plywood. Adjust the distance to be half as wel.
  8. Make the flat cuts and the perpendicular cuts.
  9. Finally, if needed - adjust the width of the bottom piece.
