Setup

Setup for a simple VoIP experiment:

  1. Account with cheapconnect
  2. KYC authentication (for now via Dirk's company) to get a Leiden trunk number
  3. SPA112 configured with the trunk
  4. Password to Cisco SPA112 in the usual place
  5. POTS on port 1 - number: +31715690707, 071-5690707 of 5690707
  6. Mangement interface op http://192.168.6.201/
  7. Configure: 25 Hz, 90 volt, sinoid for ring signal (under Voice->Region)

Not yet working - pulse based dial out (and, for now, we're not working on that - as it also means costs/billing).

Getting the phone to work

Still to do

  1. Move SPA into patch/data enclosure
  2. Find place for phone - e.g. wall mounted, etc.
  3. Find historic wall socket (20 cents at the neighbours)
  4. Run two-pair phone cable from SPA to wall socket (or use exacting cat5 cabling)
  5. Find one of those ancient loud bells to mount on the workshop side
