Intro

The boring head

We have a boring head for the mill. It lives in the second drawer down on the left size of the grey cabinet. It's in a yellow box.

The tool

It has an ISO40 shank for use in the mill.

In the box there are various accessories for use with the boring head. The holes for installing cutters are all 16mm in diameter. If you wish to use a cutter with a smaller shank there is a 6mm collet in the front left of the box, a 10mm collet in the front right of the box, and at the back right hand side there are three adapters for use with 8mm shank cutters. These also allow for different angles of retention so that the boring head can be used as a fly cutter.

Todo

  • Write better documentation on how to use
  • Increase the capabilities with additional cutters
