The White power nodes exist in are an improved version of the PowerNode NG in several variations:

  • White: first version recent version 1.08, late 2023
  • Black v1.11 variation from May 2024. These have an extra button and a lot more GPIO thanks to an i2c expander.
  • Blue: v1.14 Jan 2025. One less current coil. SS automatic/simplied, Easier to solder, diode on USB power, optos to 6k7

See these pages for manuals for each of these machines. Or the Categorie:Nodes & network devices for all nodes.

General Use

To start the machine - swipe your card. You should hear a beeb when the card is scanned. And a second short beeb when it is accepted. They may almost coincide if the network is fast that day.

To stop the machine - press the normal stop button on the machine if it has a Safety Relay - or press the small button next to 'OFF' on the node itself when the machine does not have a Safety Relay.

Accessing logging and trouble shooting

Use the right button labeled 'MORE' button (only accessible when the machine is not powered on) to access an extra set of menu's:

  1. Page 1 -- a QR code with a URL to a wiki page with documentation.
  2. Page 2 -- a QR code with an HTTP URL that will show the logging (you need to be physically at the space for this.
  3. Page 3 -- a page with the IP address and other details. You can 'telnet' to this IP address directly to see the (serial) log.

There may be additional pages on some nodes. Exist this by pressing the left button or waiting for a few seconds.

Setup / build

See this page for details on the electronics.
