The spray gun can only be used in the welding area with the spray booth connected to the fume extractor (especially if using solvent-based products). If you are using solvent-based products, please use a mask with VOC filters (FFP2 masks are useless for VOC). Connect the spray gun to the air valve above the sandblaster. Set up the air pressure and fluid control by setting it to wide open: completely unscrew the fluid control knob, press the trigger and screw the fluid control knob until it cannot turn anymore. Then, unscrew the knob by one full turn. It is a good idea to pour some solvent into the paint cup and spray it to 'wet' the gun as well as set up your fan size. Have a look at the Youtube channel [https://www.youtube.com/@PaintSociety The Paint Society] for more tips on how to set up the gun. | The spray gun can only be used in the welding area with the spray booth connected to the fume extractor (especially if using solvent-based products). Compressed air spray gun for apply paint/clear coats.
Location
On the Perslucht Bord. The box with the accessories and cleaning tools is underneath the bord.
Description
The spray gun is composed of the following elements:
- Nozzle: it atomizes the fluid. 3 different nozzle sizes are available: 1.4mm, 1.7mm and 2.0mm.
- Fan control: controls the shape of the fan of the gun, ie. the cloud of atomized fluid.
- Fluid control: control the amount of fluid that gets delivered
- Air control: controls the air flow. This should be left fully open (unless you know what you are doing).
- Pressure regulator: controls the air pressure via the knob on the side. It should be around 2-2.5bar (working pressure, ie. while depressing the trigger)
- Water separator: prevents water from entering the gun.
Use
Have a look at the Youtube channel The Paint Society for more tips on how to set up the gun.
Be aware that the gun consumes a lot of air, which means that the air compressor will likely have to run to refill the tank. Therefore make sure that you are spraying at times where the compressor is activated.
Cleaning
Cleaning the gun after use is critical. If not done properly, the gun is as good as done. Have a look on Youtube how to clean a spray gun, it is your responsibility to put it back on the bord cleaned.
