Caramel disk

What does it do

A rubber disc, often referred to as Caramel disk due to the colour and smell (not the taste I presume), is a nice tool to clean surfaces of soft materials that can be rubbed off, like soft glue similar to a gum for a pencil. Sometimes you need to use a solvent first or heat it to make the glue soft to be removed with the disk. It is significanty different from a sanding disk!It can be safely used to rub off stickers from painted surfaces.

Mount it on a drill and use the setting 1 and definitely not hammering function (if we have that on our drills). Gently rub it over the to be cleaned area and do not apply pressure. Due to friction and heat the glue or stickers rub off along with small bits of the disk. As can be seen the disk has dotted lines. Do not use beyond this and report if the disk has worn down that far.

Location

Middle drawer workbench metal area.

Replacing

It wears; replacements can be reported to the list of expensed. Anything under 15 euro's is dead normal.
