We have two sets of transfer punches. One metric, one imperial (try not to mix them).
There are to (very accurately) transfer a hole to a plate/object under that hole.
See youtube or https://www.table-saw-guide.com/transfer-punch.html for an example.
Kept in the metal workshop - but also very useful if you are working with hard wood.
Handle with care.
Dit is een precise instrument / This is a (precision) measurement tool with exact dimensions and straightness.
That means tapping it gently; but not hammering, using it as a crowbar and so on.
It is very important that if you accidentally drop it; or think it may be out of line - that you either mark the tool very clearly -- or report this to the mailing list. So that your fellow makers do not ruin their work.
This equipment is Noise Category 3: Can be used at all hours. No limits.
WARNING: Imperial tools have slightly different sizes than Metric ones.
Using the wrong one will often damage the bolt, nut or whatever you are working on. See thislist for all the imperial tools we have.
Try not to mix them with our metric tools -- to make sure your fellow maker does not ruin their work.
Be especially careful with the close friends', such as
sizes like 5/8inch and 16mm. Although the difference is 0.13mm - you will ruin (or usually just crack) a collet or similar..
