You need to make sure sawdust does not build up - you'll burn the wood otherwise.
Saw dust problems
It is often a good idea to first drill a hole (8-12mm) just inside (if you are making a hole) or outside (if you are making a disk) circle you are going to saw. This lets the sawdust escape.

Location
Usually above the wood-workbench on the side of the pillar dril/mitre saw.
Maintenance / Replacing
These tools will wear out - and the space will replace them.
